About this product
An all-in-one flexible shipping roll that lets you cut packaging to fit the item, helping replace the separate box, filler and packing tape used for many smaller shipments.
Scotch Flex and Seal Shipping Roll gives you a faster, simpler alternative to packing suitable items in conventional cardboard boxes or poly mailers.
Cut, fold, press and send
Instead of choosing a box, adding void fill and sealing it with packing tape, simply cut the amount of material you need, place your item inside, fold the material over and press the adhesive areas together. The flexible roll conforms around the item, allowing you to create a compact parcel without storing multiple sizes of boxes and mailing bags.
Packaging and cushioning in one material
The roll uses a multi-layer construction that combines an outer protective layer, built-in cushioning and a self-sealing inner surface. This allows the packaging itself to perform several jobs normally handled by separate packing materials, making it particularly useful for sellers and businesses that regularly dispatch smaller goods.
Make the parcel fit the product
Because the material is supplied on a continuous roll, you decide how much to use for each shipment. That makes it practical when packing products of different shapes and sizes and helps avoid the unnecessary empty space that can come with choosing the next available box size.
When is Flex & Seal a better choice than a box?
Flex & Seal is particularly useful when the item does not need the rigid structure of a cardboard box. Books, clothing, games, craft items and other suitable non-fragile goods can be wrapped closely rather than placed inside an oversized carton with additional filler.
It is also useful when storage space matters. One roll can be cut for different shipments, reducing the need to keep a range of box and mailing-bag sizes ready for every order.
What should you pack with it?
This type of shipping material works best with suitable non-fragile products that benefit from a flexible, cushioned outer package. Choose enough material to surround the item fully and leave sufficient space around the edges to create a secure seal.
For fragile, sharp, unusually heavy or particularly valuable goods, consider whether a rigid box and additional protective packaging would provide more appropriate protection for the journey.

How to use
Unroll enough material to fully surround the item with sufficient material remaining around the edges for sealing. Cut the required section from the roll, place the item on the inner surface, fold the material over and align the sealing areas. Press firmly around the item and along the complete perimeter so the packaging bonds securely to itself. Check the finished parcel before applying the shipping label. The grey inner face is the side that seals: fold the material so grey meets grey and press firmly along the whole join. The blue outer face does not stick to itself.
Storage
Keep the roll clean, dry and protected from damage until required. Store it away from excessive heat and direct sunlight, and prevent dust or debris from contaminating the self-sealing surfaces.
Frequently asked questions
How does Scotch Flex and Seal Shipping Roll work?
Cut the required amount from the roll, place your item inside, fold the material over and press the sealing surfaces firmly together. The material bonds to itself to create the parcel.
Do I need packing tape with Flex & Seal?
No separate packing tape is normally needed to close the package. The inner sealing surface is designed to bond securely to itself when pressed together.
Do I need a cardboard box as well?
For suitable non-fragile items, Flex & Seal can be used instead of a conventional cardboard box. Fragile or heavy goods may still be better suited to rigid protective packaging.
Does the adhesive stick to the product inside?
The sealing surface is designed to stick to itself rather than to the item being packed.
Does it provide any cushioning?
Yes. The material has a built-in cushioning layer, allowing wrapping, cushioning and sealing to be combined in one packaging format.
What items can I ship with it?
It is useful for suitable non-fragile products such as books, clothing, games, crafts and many other smaller ecommerce and postal items.
Can I cut different parcel sizes from the same roll?
Yes. The continuous roll can be cut to suit each item, making it useful when you regularly ship products in different shapes and sizes.
Is the outer material resistant to water and tearing?
Yes. The outer layer is designed to provide water and tear resistance during normal shipping and handling.
Which side of the material sticks?
The grey inner face. Fold the cut piece so grey meets grey and press firmly along the join. The blue outer face is the printed outside of the parcel and does not seal to itself.
